After Prince Alla's "Maybe (one day)" and the Tamlins' "World crisis" released earlier this year, and selected among Ernie B's "essential picks", three more cuts of the Roots Radics' "Tizita" riddim are coming early next year : Jazzmine Black "Respect me" / "Respect dub", Jah Bast and the Tamlins "My meditation of Him shall be sweet" / Danny Culture "Bloody city"

Two last cuts, by Vernon "Maytone" Buckley and Inyaki, will be released later next year.

Gaylads reunion tune to come on Soul of Anbessa 02/23/2011

Last week, I had the pleasure and honour of producing the first Gaylads tune since the reunited, 40 years after BB Seaton had left the group. The song, a rocksteady of course,  is called "Together again", and features Couscious Minds' drummer Derrick Stewart, Boris Gardiner, Dwight Pinkney and Robbie Lyn on riddim duties. The music was recorded at Tuff Gong, and the vocals at Tree Top.
It's been more and a joy to sing and work with BB, Maurice Roberts and Randel Thaxter. Great gentlemen for sure !

It takes some time, but they're almost here... Please listen to the next releases "Maybe (one day)" by Prince Alla and "World crisis" by the Tamlins, both backed by the great Roots Radics, on the "record label" page of this site...

The label for this serie has been designed by my friend and serious roots revival selector Amael aka "Litelet". Big than

The third release on the Shuttle riddim, Stranger Cole's "Don't play", has been chosen by the famous french music magazine Les Inrockuptibles, to represent the city of Kingston on their CD "Cities of music", sold with a special issue of the magazine called "Saga cités", out early this month. A wonderful opportunity to get the song to be heard by a wider audience !

The next riddim is on its way... Tizita ("nostalgy" in amharic) is an early 80's style, slow and heavy riddim, played by the Roots Radics of course. The two first releases are scheduled for september-october : Prince Alla - Maybe (one day), and the Tamlins - World crisis.
